Pages have proven to be one of the
most successful ways to use our Affiliate Program.
It's used by many or our affiliates, but we cite only a couple of
examples |

The Part time Stamp
Dealer |
The Affiliate is a
part time stamp dealers, who sells to stamp collectors. Stamps are
small and often have minute differences. He knew that his
customers needed magnifiers, but the Affiliate works out of his house
and did not have the space nor money for inventory. Nor did he
want to get into shipping larger items. He was impressed by the
incredibly broad range of magnifying products that we offer, so he
signed up for our Affiliate Program.
He spent an evening developing his own
marketing program. First he browsed our site and saved the
pictures that he wanted to use. He then created a web page showing
a dozen different products. Each links to the applicable page on
our site. He then made up his own button for
"Magnifiers" which he installed on every page on his
site. The button takes his visitor to the "Magnifier
Page" on his site. From there they click on the product and
are referred to our site. Three of the products he features are

Of course numbers
vary from month to month, but on average the site has about 25,000
unique visitors per month. The click through rate averages 3.5% so
875 of his visitors are actually referred to our site. The
Referral is very well qualified. First, because stamp collectors
need magnifiers and second, because they went looking for them.
Accordingly, the site enjoys a high conversion rate, generally about
8%.
The Referred visitor is literally blown away by
our selection and generally purchases 3-4 items. The average sale
from this site is $45.00. The Affiliate makes $8.75 off the
referrals and another $196.00 in sales commissions. During the
winter months, when more of his customers are working on their stamp
collections, the numbers run about 25%
higher. |

The Astronomy
Professor

| This is an
extremely well-done educational site. It was created by a college
professor with a passion for astronomy. It provides in-depth
information on everything from nebulas and constellations to details
relating to the U.S. space program. The Affiliate enjoys his
educational position and does not want the hassle of running a
store. He was very impressed by our vast educational
resources. When he applied for our Affiliate Program he stated
that he had two goals (1) encourage astronomical studies by providing
his visitors with a means to find hard-to-find resources, and (2) offset
the cost of maintaining his web-site, which is quite large and uses a
lot of bandwidth. He wrote, "If I make a few dollars from it,
so much the better." He prepared five product pages for his
site - one each for astronomy aids, telescopes, science kits, celestial
and moon globes, and U.S. Space Program products. Throughout his
site, he placed context sensitive links to the applicable product
page. A few of the items he features are shown below. |

This site enjoys
a unique advantage over E-commerce sites as it is non-commercial and as
such is listed in many educational directories. The high quality
of the site makes it the target of links from many other sites.
This results in about 110,000 unique visitors per month. However
most of the Visitors are seeking information and not products. The
click through rate generally runs less than the Stamp Dealer, about
2.75%. But the site has far more traffic. The result it
generally generates over 3,000 referrals a month.
The conversion rate runs 4.5%, which is
lower than the Stamp Dealer. Offsetting this is that telescopes
and other astronomy products are more expensive than magnifiers.
This results in the average sale being around $90.00. In a typical
month, the commissions run around $800.00.
Some products are seasonal.
Telescopes head the list. About 75% of annual telescope sales are
made during the Christmas sales season. The professor's commission
check for December 2,000 was over $3,000.00. He wrote,
"This far exceeds my wildest expectations." Easy
come. Easy go. He use the money to buy a new
telescope. |

The Reason
it works

In
both cases, the Affiliate targeted product lines that were applicable to
his web-site. By visiting the site, the Visitor had already
qualified himself as being interested in the subject. Most people
try to do more than simply study something, they are involved in
it. Involvement requires the use of physical resources. The
stamp collector needed magnifiers, the budding astronomer need a
telescope or astronomy aids.
This works with a broad range
of products. Look through our store and you'll find things that
