The Shopping Cart does not work.  What do I do?
The program uses Java.  If not enabled on your browser, the shopping cart will not work.
Click here to for instructions  Also, many companies have firewalls installed on their computers and Java cannot work in such an environment  Also, recent versions of Microsoft Windows did not include the Java runtime library.  Click here to get a free copy from the creator and owner, Sun Microsystems.  Of course, you can can simply telephone in your order, using our toll-free number or fax it to us.

How does the shopping cart work?
It's easy: (1) Click on the order button next to each item.  This puts it in the "shopping cart" at the bottom of the page, (2) Edit the cart contents if you wish, (3) Push the checkout button, (4) Fill out the order form, then (5) Submit the order to us.  For more detailed instructions, Click here.

Is it safe to transmit my credit card number over the Internet?
Yes.  We utilize an extremely tight security system.  Most E-commerce companies that manage their sites through on-line data base systems.  Hackers do break into these systems and steal credit card numbers.  We use a totally different approach.  Our webs only contain product information and pictures.  When you are ready to check out, you go to our secure Order Form Page.  This is a secure page.  You fill out the form giving your name, address, credit card information, etc.  This is encrypted using the Verisign site security system and written to a temporary file.  The information is electronically transmitted to our in-house computers and the temporary file is deleted.  Our in-house computers are not hooked to the Internet and thus there is no physical way that a hacker can break into our data base. 

Is it safe to provide my email address?  I don't want any junk mail.
We do not sell our customer's email address.  We do plan to publish an informative Newsletter for those with an interest in Science and Nature.  It provides summaries of interesting articles, links to sites that we think you'll enjoy, special discounts on popular items, and notice of interesting one-of-a-kind items, such as fossils and animal products.  We only send it to subscribers.  You may cancel the subscription at any time.
